if kim only cares about people’s worth if they’re in the RCM then why in the fuck was he about to give his jacket to some random ass kid
yeah sure the guy who only cares about other RCM officers if they’re good was about to part with the only item of clothing keeping him somewhat warm in a place where there’s ice thick enough to support two grown men and a bunch of other shit absolutely
on some level kim WANTS to be the consummate professional who only cares about his fellow officers, and most of the time he is successful in this endeavor, but this doesn’t change the fact that it’s literally impossible for a person to be any one singular thing. he makes a big deal out of not liking juvie punks—as an inverse to this scene, he helps harry bully a pair of them out of their jackets—but he still tries to give his own jacket (something we know to have personal significance to him) to another (clearly high) punk kid. the fact that these two contradictory scenes exist speak to the truth of this conflict within him.
we talk a lot about how harry’s RCM work brings out the worse in him, but it’s the same w kim imho. all of kim’s worst traits, his apathy, his callousness, his largely uncritical faith in the RCM, are undoubtedly the things that make him such an admired member of the force.
i really, really hope there’s a full on fourth wall break as the players and characters realize they are in their stories and playing a story and i really want that existential cosmic but real horror to happen
i can’t help but love emily, as just her heart is overwhelmed in the moment and is crying, as ylfa, saying goodbye to her grandmother and as the wolf, as death, leading her grandmother’s mom to the beyond.
just because I saw it earlier in a post, in a half disappointed, in a half-surprised way, I can’t help but feel pinnochio giving his chance of ever being a real boy is both a interesting choice and a…disappointing? one?
to preface after, i am enjoying neverafter, and i do really like the moment of pinnochio cutting his strings and making it his own destiny, but as i saw before it felt like a cop out to some people. idk. i half wish he did give his strings back, or to the baba yaga. but i still can’t wait to see how this all ends, in the coming episodes.
